Cher Wood is the heart and soul behind Street Wise Canine. With 17 years of experience as a dog trainer and foster rescuer, Cher has dedicated her life to understanding, nurturing, and transforming dogs of all shapes, sizes, and personalities. Her journey began with a deep love for dogs and a natural talent for connecting with them, which quickly evolved into a full-blown passion for training and rescue work.
Over the years, Cher has rescued, fostered, and rehabilitated countless dogs, giving them a second chance at a happy life. She believes in a balanced training approach that respects each dog’s unique needs and personality, and her methods are all about building trust, confidence, and real-life skills that make a difference. Whether it’s working with a reactive dog, teaching a new puppy the basics, or helping an anxious rescue settle into their new home, Cher’s goal is simple: to create happy dogs and even happier owners.

As the husband of Street Wise Canine’s owner, Mike has had a front-row seat to some of the best training in the business. After years of learning, hands-on practice, and seeing his passion for helping dogs grow, we’ve officially welcomed him as an apprentice trainer on our team. Mike brings a unique blend of enthusiasm, a great sense of humour, and a genuine love for dogs that makes him a fantastic fit here at Street Wise Canine.
